The University of Exeter is conveniently situated within walking distance of Exeter St Davids railway station. There are 3 railway stations in Exeter that provide direct links to all major cities in the UK.

If you are coming on foot from the Exeter St Davids railway station, it is a 20 mins uphill walk.  Exit from the station’s main entrance, cross over the road and head towards the Premier Inn.  Take the path to the right hand side of the hotel.  At the end of the path cross over St Davids Hill Road, and continue straight on up Howell Road.  Once you reach a crossroad, turn left on to New N Road.  Finally, turn right onto Streatham Road which takes you onto the University Campus.  The Forum is clearly signposted.

By Bus

The main bus station in Exeter is undergoing a redevelopment due to be opened in 2021.  The city is well-served by intercity connections to the main towns and cities.  The Bus station is located a short walk to the centre of Exeter, on Bampfylde Street.  Stagecoach South West is the main bus operator in Exeter and also runs extensive services across the rest of Devon. By Car or Taxi

Choose the M5 for links from Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham and all points along the M4 corridor to London. The A30/A303/M3 offers an alternative, high quality scenic route to Exeter from London and the South East.

Exeter Airport is five miles from the city of Exeter and is situated adjacent to the A30, close to junction 29 of the M5 motorway.


Passengers can also fly to and from Exeter on Flybe codeshare services via Manchester.

Daily flights operate to and from London City Airport, the Manchester route has up to four flights a day for global connectivity, and with a daily Paris and Amsterdam service Exeter Airport can claim to be a real gateway to the South West.

Stagecoach bus service 56 runs to and from the airport to the city centre, and Hertz, Avis and Europcar offer car hire options.
